The Division’s strategy comprises seven main areas:
- Increasing profitability through improvements in operations and supply chain management
- Successfully commercializing disc brakes
- Maintain global leadership in automatic brake adjustors
- Business development activity in Asia to capitalize on market growth
- Fully exploiting the competitive edge provided by Haldex’s strong position in ABS, Air Suspension and Control Valves for trailers
- Refining electronic control products by integrating additional functionality to meet future requirements concerning braking function and diagnostics
- Build on traditional aftermarket strengths
Key events during 2007
- Intensified focus on operational excellence through the Haldex Way and Six Sigma.
- The second-generation EB+ brake system was launched in the European trailer market.
- COLAS+, a new version with expanded functionality of Haldex’s raising and lowering valve, was launched.
- Substantial rise in deliveries of ILAS-E, the Haldex elevator axle system for electronic brake systems.
- Daimler nominated ModulAir for electronically controlled air-drying and distribution of compressed air.
- Improved balance of global supply chain.
- Initiated restructuring of the North American friction manufacturing.
Focus in 2008
- Continue work on improving productivity, product standardization, improving resource utilization and processes, all within the framework of the Haldex Way.
- Increase global sourcing and identification of alternative suppliers to reduce costs, improve delivery times and increase quality.
- Strengthen product characteristics that increase value for the customer.
- Exploit opportunities in Asia.
