The Division’s strategy includes the following:

  • Geographical expansion, notably in Asia – with a particular focus on China – and securing rising market shares in the US.
  • Capitalizing on growth opportunities arising from advances in vehicle technology, which open up more application areas and thus increase the market potential for high-quality valve spring wire beyond the growth solely attributable to the increase in vehicle output.
  • Continual efficiency enhancement, thereby cutting production and administration costs.

Key events during 2007

  • Continuing programs aimed at achieving quality and process improvements at the Garphyttan plant.
  • ISO TS certification of the new plant in China.
  • Higher production volumes in the Chinese plant.

Focus in 2008

  • Continued focus on continuous improvement via Haldex Way and Six Sigma.
  • Extend customer approvals for production in China and attain full utilization of higher capacity at the Suzhou production plant.
  • Strengthen cooperation with key customers.
  • Stabilize the quality assurance process.
  • Stabilize the delivery chain.
